Why, why, why…. (do I sound like a 2 year old yet?) Why is a powerful word and you should start here.  Using Simon Sinek’s ‘Golden Circle ’ idea you should clarify what your why is.  To help you get there you can use techniques such as the ‘ 5-whys ’ or even ‘7-whys’ .  These are well proven techniques to improve your focus and improve

Due to the widespread disruption throughout the first half of 2020, much of the usual UCI Race Calendar for spring and summer had to be postponed. The question then, that kept being asked around our office was, how will they fit everything in this autumn? I’ve been cycling regularly, and cycle commuting for about two years now, so, I’d recently decided it was time to really knuckle down and really get the wheels turning. And then, COVID- 19 happened. My partner and I live in Manchester, which experienced its 10 th wettest year on record in 2019, so we had both already invested in turbo trainers. But, I have to admit, I had been a little reluctant to engage with all the technological advancements in indoor bike training. I never thought I’d want and

‘The more restricted our society and work become; the more necessary it will be to find some outlet for this craving for freedom. No one can say, “You must not run faster than this, or jump higher than that.” The human spirit is indomitable.’ Roger Bannister 66 years ago today, on a cold, wet and windy day, in a Britain still recovering from the devastation of 2 World Wars; a 25 year old medical student in Oxford achieved the seemingly impossible. On the 6 th of May 1954 Roger Bannister ran a sub 4 minute mile. His run became a symbol of human achievement that echoed far beyond the world of athletics. Runners the world over had been trying seriously to break this barrier since the late 1800s, but over 50 years later, the fabled four minute mile still seemed out of reach. Bannister’s achievement, described by Athletics Weekly as ‘ the Everest of Athletics’, had not taken place in perfect weather, nor on a perfect surface, but by a team of runners, working tirelessly together to achi
