2018 UCI World Tour review
March 2018
After making its debut on the UCI World Tour calendar in 2017 the Strade Bianche takes place again in Tuscany, Italy (March 3). After this two big stage races take place in the run up to the first big Spring Classic which is Milan San Remo. In March the 2 big stage races are; Paris – Nice, also called the race to the sun and the Tirreno-Adriatico, also called the race between 2 seas. The one-day clash between the end of Paris-Nice and start of Tirreno-Adriatico continues in 2018. The Milan San Remo (March 17) is the longest one day race on the calendar and traditionally kicks off the classics season in Europe.

In April the cycling classics season follows the same date order traditionally with the Tour of Flanders (April 1) which will start in Antwerp and also the Muur van Geraardsbergen will feaure on the course again. The end of the season
The season comes to a close with the final Grand Tour of the year, the Vuelta a España (August 25 to September 16) with the final Monument of Cycling; the Giro Lombardia taking place on Saturday 13 October.
Ghent Six Days Track cycling
Our favourite season end is the yearly odyssey to Ghent to watch the Ghent 6 days track cycling event in November. The 2016 edition was fantastic with the win of Wiggins and Cavendish. We offer standard tickets for every night as well as hospitality on the weekend nights. The VIP Cafe is particularly good value for money as the open bar is open from 18.00 until 01.30 on Saturday. Hotel stays are also available or even a coach trip from the UK – More information here

Stage Start hospitality
The 2018 UCI World Tour teams, event organisers and entourage travel around with the riders. The team buses park within an enclosed and restricted area. An expo type village is created at the start of each one of the stages. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the events like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the village and the rider’s paddock. If you are into collecting autographs, this is the best place for it.

As part of selected tours on the Giro d’Italia, the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana we have accreditation to do a ‘cross the finish line’ VIP experience. We will take our tour vehicle to a designated area where the cyclists will start their ride and the the non-cyclists will be taken directly to the finish. The riders will ride the final 50km section of the stage to cross the official finish line of the day’s stage. Both cyclists and spectators will then all get together for photos on the official podium followed by a back stage tour and watching the arrival of the riders.

- A clubhouse
- Welcome aperitif and unlimited buffet
- Entertainment and live coverage of the race on a giant screen
- Champagne celebration of the day’s action
