ENERVIT and the Tour de France – A Match Made in Yellow

The Tour de France of 2020 was unlike anything we’ve seen, here at Sports Tours International, for years. Sure, there were the obvious things like later dates, the reduced numbers of spectators on the roadsides, and the masks, but there was also three weeks jam packed with uniquely exciting and unpredictable racing, on one of the most innovative and toughest parcours we’ve seen for years!

With 8 mountain top stage finishes, a unique and windswept, island to island stage from Île d’Oléron to Île d’Ré, and the decisive uphill time trail on the penultimate day; the 2020 Tour de France was an electric and dramatic affair, that kept us guessing right to the end.

The Science Behind the Superstars

In 2020, the team enjoyed a superb tour. Despite suffering a puncture in stage 18, former Team Sky rider Richie Porte managed to secure third place in the General Classification, his first time on the podium at the Tour de France.

‘To finally crack the podium, that’s the picture I want on the wall at home’, the Australian rider said of his achievement.

Team UAE Emirates

For the next 3 years Enervit will also be Official Nutrition Partner of UAE Team Emirates, as the Team’s Official Supplier.

This team is home to some of the biggest and most well established names in world cycling such as Fabio Aru, Rui Costa, Alexander Kristoff, and Fernando Gaviria, as well as bright new cycling stars, with Tadej Pogacar being perhaps the brightest among them.

Aged just 21, Pogacar stunned the world, finishing ahead of strong favourite and countryman Primoz Roglic at this year’s Tour, after an incredible effort and stunning victory, on the final Time Trial stage of the tour.  Culminating in an uphill finish to La Planche des Belles Filles, the 22 year old’s stage victory saw him rise to the top of the General Classification. The Slovenian rider also took the top of the rankings in both the Young Rider and the King of the Mountains Classifications.

The youngest winner of the Tour de France since 1904; Pogacar said of his victory,

“It’s unbelievable. It’s really crazy to be the winner of the Tour de France… I can’t describe it with words. Today was a very special day with my team-mates…. This sport is amazing!”
