Sports Tours International announced as winners in national travel awards

It’s been a fantastic few days for our team at Sports Tours International. This is because we have beaten off competition from Thomas Cook Sport and Neilson Ski to scoop the award for the Best Sports Travel and Tourism Site in the TravelMole UK Awards 2017.

The awards were rated on user experience from readers of the TravelMole website which is a travel industry community website that engages with people in the travel industry across the UK. The votes were based on four factors, content, layout, ease of navigation and innovation of the website.

Chris Bird, Chief Executive here at Sports Tours International, emphasised that: “This is a great achievement, and a testament to our brand and everyone who has worked hard on our current website over the past two years. Our new website has been very successful commercially, and we’ve seen an increased level of customer engagement.”

Since the launch of our new website we have more than doubled our website traffic and the website has been visited by keen sports enthusiasts from more than 211 countries around the world. This has reiterated that we are the UK’s largest specialist sports travel company and we take thousands of participants and spectators to sports events around the world, including the TCS New York City Marathon, Tokyo Marathon and the Tour de France.

Chris also added: “This recognition comes towards the end of a successful year. We have witnessed a significant increase in cycling and running participation at our events. Next year is another big year for sport, and we look forward to another exciting year and building on this achievement.”

We would like to thank everyone who voted and who has recognised the hard work we are doing to provide the best experience to all our customers. We are immensely proud of this achievement and to receive national recognition for the work we are doing.

The TravelMole awards are now in their 13th year and this year they took place on board a City Cruise boat on the River Thames on Wednesday 15th November.
