Sports Tours International, the UK’s largest independent sports tour operator and owners of the We Love Manchester 10k, City of Salford 10k, Alder Hey 10k and Tour of Tameside races will be bringing the cities biggest 10k back to Preston on Sunday September 30th!
Formerly known at the Run Preston 10k, the City of Preston 10k will start and finish in the centre of the city around the Guild Hall and Flag Market area, following a similar route to 2017.

UK Events Manager for Sports Tours International, Kevin Harmer said;

“We are delighted to have added the City of Preston 10k to our ever growing event portfolio in the North West. The race is extremely important within the city and with our expertise in delivering a number of successful mass participation running events and our additional reach to running customers outside of Preston, it’s sure to be a great spectacle for everyone involved”.

Councillor Peter Kelly, Cabinet member for Culture and Leisure, said;

“I’m delighted that Sports Tours International will be organising an annual 10k race for Preston residents and visitors. Always a popular event in the past, I’m sure they’ll do a great job for 2018.”
The event will see an officially timed 10k race from the heart of the city which will follow a similar route to previous years, where hundreds of supporters are expected to line the route and cheer the participants on. In addition to the 10k, there will also be a ‘Fun Run’ on race day which will be a short distance event made suitable for all ages and ability levels, buggies and walkers welcome too! More exact details of the Fun Run will be announced in due course.
Sports Tours International anticipates a number of businesses and charities will engage with this community focussed event and already confirmed as an Official Race Partner is Preston-based PAR Group.

A representative from the Rubber and Plastic Engineering Company said;

“For PAR Group to be an Official Partner of the ‘City of Preston 10k’ is fantastic. We’d like to wish the organisers, the competitors and all those involved the very best of luck for a successful event.”
Entries for the City of Preston 10k will open at 9.30am on Wednesday 14th of February at the Early Bird entry fee of £17 (£15 for non-affiliated runners) and all entries include official chip timing, water on the route and at the finish, commemorative medal and finishers technical t-shirt.
