Our UK running events have gone global

Alongside our range of cycling and running holidays across the world, Sports Tours International also organise a wide rnage of UK running events, including the UKFast We Love Manchester 10k, The UKFast City of Salford 10k, The Alder Hey 10k, The Preston City 10k, The Tour of Tameside & more!

But did you know that each and every one of our races welcomes participants from all over the globe. In 2017 at the Tour of Tameside, we were delighted to see two runners travel all the way from China to compete in the famous 4 day back-to-back endurance event as well as a former Tameside resident returning to the region from Australia. For this June’s event we have received confirmation of four runners travelling to run and meet Ron Hill MBE, our Ambassador, from Berlin in Germany. Actually from Ron Hill AC Berlin! Their running club was formed in the late 1980’s after the unification of East and West Germany when one of the clubs founding members bumped into Ron and asked if he would kindly let them use his name for their new club. So, what an occasion that will be, reuniting Ron and Ron Hill AC Berlin at the Tour this June.

For this July’s UKFast We Love Manchester 10k which takes place at the Regional Athletics Track at the Etihad Campus, runners are joining us from all four corners of the UK and beyond. One participant is travelling over 11,000 miles from Wellington New Zealand to run, AMAZING! The same can also be said for our MediaCityUK event, the UKFast City of Salford where each year we have a number of runners who cross the water from Ireland to take on the 10k route.

The fact that there are so many different nationalities that compete in our races gives them a very unique friendly atmosphere, where often you arrive at the race by yourself, but leave with a whole bunch of new running buddies!

Holidays Fit For Heroes – Results Announcement

The search is over! It is now time to announce who has won the Sports Tours International, Holidays Fit for Heroes 2020 Christmas campaign! But, before we do, we want to take the time to thank each and every person who nominated either themselves, or their loved ones into the competition. We have been absolutely blown away by the responses, and humbled reading each of your stories. We know there will still be a lot of unsung heroes out there, but hope that, with our campaign, we have gone some way to say THANKS. Reykjavik Marathon – An Odyssey

Iceland is an island of unique and breath-taking landscapes, rich in culture and history, and phenomenal volcanic geology.
