Every Run We Make, Every Breath We Take, We Will Remember You. As a proud Manchester business Sports Tours International has dedicated our 10K to the We Love Mcr charity for the past 8 years. Today we all stand together in silence at 1430 to remember those who lost their lives in the arena attack, their families, friends and colleagues. In recognition and in remembrance of those who lost their lives, and those who have been affected by the tragic events of May 22nd 2017 this years UKFast We Love Manchester 10K will be dedicated to them all. With only four weeks to go until the Tour of Tameside I was excited to attend the Talk of the Tour event last week. I have never been before and it was great to see all the memorabilia, footage, and meet some amazing runners and long-time supporters of the tour. As a resident of Tameside I am passionate about the tour as I know what a fantastic event it is for our borough, and I am very proud to be an ambassador for the company who has brought it back! I think an obvious highlight of the evening was listening to the inspirational Ron Hill as he shared stories from his racing days and talked about how the Tour first began. I think Tameside is a great place to live for those who like to run, we are a short distance from the city centre so large scale running events in Manchester are easily accessible, but we’re also surrounded by countryside and great places to run right on our doorstep.   The Tour of Tameside each year is developing into much more than a running event. Volunteers, local residents cheering on the runners, school children studying elements of the race and local businesses are engaging all the time and in 2018 we are delighted to be working with Live Well & Active Tameside on the Walking Tour of Tameside. Nayereh Kelly, Active Tameside’s Live Active Community Activator has planned four entry level walking routes, which vary in duration and location in and around the race days themselves, on June 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th.
