Sports Tours International is one of the largest independent sports tour operators. We have not only been in business for over 40 years but we are also part of the Done Brothers group of companies which also include the companies Betfred and Peninsula Business services. Because we are firm believers in putting our customers first and in doing business responsibly we are members of all the leading tourism industry organisations like ABTA, IATA and ATOL. All the moneys paid by our customers to us for their travel packages are covered under ABTA’s bonding scheme*. Before you book your holiday we advise you to look out for the membership of these organisations so you know you are dealing with a reputable company.

*A travel package consists of a combination of at least two of the following components: Transport. Accommodation.

Quality control and health and safety

We operate a stringent supplier selection process and all our hotels, transport providers and other suppliers are checked by us and we will only work with reputable suppliers who operate in accordance with local laws. Our customised support minibuses on our cycling tours for example are not only well maintained but also equipped with bike racks, trailers, first aid kits and defibrillators. We actively encourage feedback from our customers and we strive to resolve complaints during the actual tour. If we do not manage to resolve any issues that you encounter to your satisfaction then it’s comforting to know that we abide by ABTA’s code of conduct.

We take care of everything for you

Book with us and you will be safe in the knowledge that everything is taken care of for you. With our travel packages we provide a on-stop-shop for a whole host of other sports travel services that you may need. We will just leave you to book your flights to arrive at the starting point of the tour. Some of the things we take care of for you are:

• A pre-departure travel itinerary and support from our office staff to answer any queries
• Guaranteed event entries to events that are sold out without the need to provide a qualifying time
• Airport transfers
• Hotels in good locations for the event which are suitable for athletes with things like secure bike storage, early breakfasts, wellness centres etc.
• Overseas staff support including airport welcome, welcome meeting, race briefing, additional feed stops on cycling events, guided rides and runs, in-resort transfers, luggage transfers and much more

Prices

We provide excellent value for money with our running and cycling tours. You will be hard pressed to find a better price and holiday quality anywhere else. The prices that you see on our website include all charges for the included elements as per the travel package like hotel taxes for example. Our 24hr open access online booking system shows you live availability so you get immediate confirmation. We will not charge you extra due to the Euro or Dollar exchange rate, fuel surcharges on flights if you book them through. Those costs will be borne by Sports Tours International.

Join our group

We welcome all nationalities across our running and cycling events. Our aim is to take care of all the event related logistics so you can focus on realising your goals from setting a PB to just having a great time with some like-minded people. You can be as independent as you want to be. To ensure that you get the most out of the event our staff provide welcome meetings and/ or race briefings on many of our tours. These meetings also let you meet the other people in our group so our tours are ideal for anybody from single travellers to groups.

Independent athletes

We encourage single travellers to join our tours. Rooms for single occupancy are available on all our tours but we also offer the opportunity to book a ‘Twin to Share’ option which means that we pair you up with another athlete of the same sex so you can enjoy the event without having to pay the single occupancy supplement.

Staff training and experience

We are proud to have an experienced, well trained and dedicated team working for us both in our office in the UK as well as on our events. All staff are first aid trained and drivers have received advanced driver training and many of our staff are multi-lingual. Our staff are committed to providing the very best customer service and to ensure that our customers have a brilliant time with us.
