Struggling for Father’s Day gift ideas?
Is your Dad a runner or cyclist? We can help you.
If your Dad is a runner.
- Did he start running this year, bought all the gear but his motivation has dropped a little? Give him a race entry to a local 10k, that will give him a target. All our race are in the North West.
Whichever race you choose, just promise him that you’ll be there when he crosses the finish line so he receives the full finish line hero experience.
- Is your dad the first up when the dancing starts? Does he always enjoy a good party and is the life and soul? Give him race entry to Holland’s biggest running party “the Dam tot Damloop”, it will be right up his street.
- Race entry to Disney Paris Half marathon.
By promising to buy your Dad the race entry for this fun-filled affair, this could be a perfect plan to get the holiday you always dreamed of to Euro Disney. View travel packages options here:
- Did you Dad run his first marathon recently and has always wanted to run in the Big Apple? Go big with an entry, accommodation and flights to the New York Marathon!
Is your Dad is a Cyclist?
Has your Dad kept going on about something called “the Giro” and “the Criterium du Dauphine” recently and does he keep saying that he can’t wait for “Le Tour”? Do you think he has some new friends called “Chris Froome”, “Tom Dumoulin” and a brand new one this weekend “Jakob Fuglsang”.
Then he loves Pro Cycling and we have some fab experiences for him:
- Tour de France – Paris Grand Finale
You’ll be in your Dad’s good books forever if he has a VIP Grandstand view of his heroes racing up and down the Champs-Élysées. You can even give him the full luxury experience known as the Espace Rive Gauche.
We also have accommodation available within stumbling distance so he can enjoy the free bar (available on some packages).
- UCI world champs
This year it’s a fabulous location in Bergen Norway. Ensure your Dad doesn’t miss any of the action, buy a VIP experience for unrivaled viewing.
- Does your Dad prefer Chris Hoy over Chris Froome? Then a trip to Ghent 6 might be the just the ticket.
Does your Dad prefer to ride?
It’s really difficult buying cycling kit or bits for a cyclist’s bike. Chances are they already have everything they need, and just because you think Greg Van Avermaet looks fab in that BMC kit, your Dad might not.
So experiences are the way to go:
- Go for a local sportive – find a great event nearby here. Please remember that if he hates hills, don’t go for something called “The Monster” or “The Fred Whitton” and don’t go for something flat (Tour of Cambridgeshire or Ride London – Box Hill isn’t really a climb!) if he loves to climb!
- Did he bang on about Cobbles during the Spring? Then he clearly likes the Classics. If he also enjoys the odd beer think about Tour of Flanders, it has the perfect mix of cobbles, pro racing, frites and beer. Another option might be, especially if you still haven’t really forgiven him for the last time he grounded you, is Paris Roubaix – the Hell of the North.
- Does he say things like “Tourmalet” or “Mount Ventoux” and then seems to drift away in his own thoughts? You can make his dreams come true. Give him the full Tourmalet experience with a double ascent as featured on the Marmotte Pyrenees, which is a fab event that has yet to attract the crowds. Or give him a triple ascent of Ventoux in the Haute Route Ventoux. Which might just turn those dreams he was having into nightmares!
- Or maybe you just need to dust off those trainers or fish out that old bike and join him during his favourite activity on Sunday. You might just start to discuss an even bigger adventure that you could take on together!!
