The Gran Fondo Nove Colli is one of the oldest mass participation events for amateur cyclists in the world. The race takes place in Cesenatico on the Italian Adriatic Coast every year on the roads that Marco Pantani used to train on in his youth. The 2020 edition is extra special as the 2020 Giro d’Italia will dedicate a stage to this special cycling event. The Gran Fondo Nove Colli will effectively turn into what the Etape du Tour is for the Tour de France. Amateur riders and fans can watch the riders of the Giro d’Italia tackle the 9 hills on Stage 12 of the Corsa Rosa on Thursday, 21 May on the 205km CESENATICO to CESENATICO stage.
